The Role:
To join our expanding team of 26 in acting exclusively for mortgage lenders and banks in relation to their contentious matters. The ideal candidate will be tasked with handling defended and sensitive reputational cases based on Etridge style claims, breach of contract/mandate, fraud, arrears disputes, reputational claims and professional negligence.
running a significant caseload for key FTSE banking and mortgage lender clients
advising competently upon a range of lending issues with minimum supervision
assessing, and accurately progressing efficiently, matters of variety but that typically emanate from banks and mortgage lenders
assisting partner upon larger cases and dealing with document management
actively involved in key business development activities with clients and potential clients
actively involved in the production of legal updates for external distribution and the development of know-how
management and supervision of junior members of the team
The ideal candidate:
A Solicitor with 5 years' banking and financial services litigation experience:
Ideally experienced in acting for banks and mortgage lenders in contentious matters (however the extensiveness of this experience , if low, may not be a complete barrier if the candidate has the right qualities)
Should be from a top 100 law firm, with contentious commercial experience
Should have a working knowledge of land registry practice and procedure
Should have previously acted for plc's on panel arrangements to appreciate the rigours that go with this territory
Outgoing and good with clients on all levels
Keen and enthusiastic to learn and form good relationships with clients
Willing to go that "extra mile"
