As a senior member of the team, you will run your own cases and primarily have fee earning responsibility. You will be involved with business development and help to supervise junior feeearners, playing your part in developing this growing team. This will be underpinned by ensuring the highest standards of quality in respect of client care and the services provided by the team.
You will have a minimum of 6 years PQE in this area, with exposure to working with in-house counsel and as part of a client team. You will be experienced in acting for and liaising with senior stakeholders in corporate and large commercial entities. As a commercially minded individual and a strong communicator, you will have an adaptable and pragmatic approach and experience of advising clients in mediation.

Who should apply
Firstly we look for a quick intellect. As well as a predicted 2:1 in any discipline plus 320 UCAS points or equivalent, you'll need strong analytical skills, sound judgment, imagination and meticulous attention to detail. Also vital are the communication skills to be persuasive and build rapport, plenty of drive and determination, plus a keen interest in business.
Candidates must demonstrate fluent spoken and written English language skills. Mandarin Chinese language skills are desirable.
Training programme
As the graduate intake is relatively small, the firm gives trainees individual attention, coaching and monitoring. Your structured and challenging programme involves four six month seats in different practice groups within the firm covering contentious and non-contentious areas. These seats include 'on the job' training and you will share an office with a partner or senior associate. In-house lectures complement your training and there is continuous review of your career development. As a trainee at SH you will be given your own caseload and as much responsibility as you can shoulder.
The successful candidates' role is to take initial instructions, undertake research, prepare legal documentation, consult and advise clients and undertake various business development tasks as required.
Outside of the office
At SH we aim to strike a balance between work and life outside of work. The firm plays a range of team sports, offers subsidised health club membership, has privileged seats for concerts at the Royal Albert Hall and offers concessions to more than 200 galleries and museums.

Responsibilities
The Role holder will provide a support service to the professional staff and key responsibilities within the team will be:
Responsible for all aspects of post registration trade mark maintenance
Supervising the renewals team
Management of reminder system and advising clients of maintenance dates for registered rights
Attending to renewal and maintenance of trade marks
Liaison with Client and FFW Client Manager regarding portfolio maintenance for prime clients
Billing, database and other administration duties relating to the aforesaid
Assisting the IP Practice Manager as necessary
