Do you have experience of skills training within a leading law or professional services firm? This premier law firm seeks an experienced Learning and Development Manager with a proven track record in designing, delivering and running skills training sessions and programmes for professionals.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident, tenacious and yet tactful and flexible and be comfortable managing and dealing with people of a variety of levels of seniority. This large international law firm is looking for an IT Trainer to coordinate and oversee the training aspect of a large-scale international Office 2010 and Desktop project. Duties will include the production of a range of training materials, completing and maintaining all training administration, delivery of one-to-one, workshop and classroom training, taking ownership of user desktop issues, finding solutions and feeding them back to the users, updating and maintain training material on the Intranet, liaising with international IT members and other colleagues regarding training facilities and also with external providers to arrange training delivery. There is also the opportunity to work on various projects in the firm’s other offices around the world.

Our client, a leading international law firm have an opportunity for an experienced and forward thinking L&D professional to join this team. You would have primary responsibility for planning, coordinating and evaluating the business skills programmes for Associates and Business support staff and secretarial training programmes. You'll design and deliver training on such topics and for such audiences as would be appropriate given your previous experience and areas of expertise and will generally to assist with the development and promotion of the training function within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Business skills programmes
* Responsible for the firm's junior and senior business skills programmes including:
* reviewing appraisal data to assess trends in programme needs;
* booking internal and external trainers; booking rooms, equipment and refreshments;
* advertising courses;
* sending diary appointments;
* producing course materials;
* providing contact point for external and internal trainers both before and on the day of the programme;
* monitoring attendance;
* updating CPD records;
* producing, distributing and reviewing feedback forms;
* liaising with external and internal trainers where changes to programme needed;
* arranging payment of invoices;
* overseeing the MBA Skills programme
Associates Development Centres
* Responsible for coordinating the firm's four programmes and three Bridging the Gap days each year including:
* attending pre-programme planning meetings with the design team;
* booking external consultant facilitators and role players;
* finding and booking suitable venues;
* identifying and inviting appropriate attendees;
* liaising with other offices to invite appropriate peer group associates;
* sending diary appointments;
* arranging and delivering briefing meeting;
* reviewing draft materials and coordinating preparation of final version of materials for handouts;
* preparation of Joining Instructions, bundles of pre-reading and briefing material for role players;
* co-ordination of completion of psychometric tests by participants pre-programme;
* event management and co-ordination with the venue before, during and after each programme;
* attending each programme as a co-facilitator.

* reviewing feedback and arranging post programme review meeting with external consultants.

* providing contact point for external and internal trainers both before and on the day of the programme;

* reviewing modules of programme to ensure meeting needs of business and meeting standards of delivery expected.
* Responsible for the Business Services Managers programme - liaising with external trainer, booking sessions, preparation of materials, reviewing and updating course content as required
NQ Induction
* Responsible for planning, administering and coordinating firm's annual 2-day NQ induction programme including:
* preparing schedule;
* inviting internal and external trainers;
* finding and booking suitable venue;
* inviting NQs and sending diary appointments;
* coordinating preparation of materials;
* providing contact point for internal and external trainers before and on the day of the programme;
* attending the programme for quality control purposes and as session facilitator;
* reviewing feedback and producing feedback summary.
Annual appraisal process
* Delivery of appraisal training for Secretarial and Support staff each year.
* Collection and review of business skills training needs data from appraisal forms and production of training needs summary.
Assisting with preparation and monitoring of annual budget as regards spend on business skills programmes and secretarial and support staff programmes
* Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget, including liaising with Heads of Business Support departments and Head of L&D.
* Monitoring budget, arrange payments and Inputting into budget updating exercises during the year.
Individual performance management requests
* Providing point of contact for HR team as regards individual requests for support related to performance management issues.
* Advising on development support available internally and liaising with individual fee earners and supervisors as necessary to implement proposals.
* Creative solutions for people who need coaching
* Advising and / or designing solutions for teams where there has been a change of manager / dysfunctional - sourcing appropriate external or internal resources as appropriate including providing the internal resource personally where necessary.
Graduate calibre candidates will have experience working within the training team with a legal or professional services environment.
