Sports Lawyer/Business Affairs Ex

Job Purpose:
The Business Affairs Executive for this TV broadcasters Sport team will be responsible for supporting the Controller of Commercial Affairs in the negotiation and contracting of sport rights and programming.

Accountabilities and responsibilities:
 To provide legal support to the Controller of Commercial Affairs.

 In conjunction with the Controller of Commercial Affairs, take responsibility for commissioning agreements for all sports programmes.

 To undertake responsibility for liaising with sponsorship and marketing teams in relation to sports programmes.

 To provide legal support to the Sports Archive.

 To provide support to the Sport Production business.

 In conjunction with the Controller of Commercial Affairs, take the lead responsibility for talent agreements for major tournaments and one-off events as required.

 To provide legal support to any broadband joint ventures with Arsenal and Liverpool FC’s.


Person Specification:
Skills
Knowledge
Experience
relevant to the job either essential or desired.
 A qualified lawyer with proven and demonstrable post qualifying experience.
 Good knowledge of Sport rights acquisition and programme production.
 Demonstrable success in fostering and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts both internal and external to the business.
 Team player who communicates well with colleagues.
 Demonstrable and proven organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
