Structured and Asset Finance Associate – NQ + years’ experience - London

We currently have a number of opportunities for qualified lawyers to join our Structured and Asset Finance team.

Our Structured and Asset Finance ( SAF ) team is divided into 4 sub teams, each of which have advised on major projects and innovations: Securitisation, Structured Products, Tax Structured Products and Assets ( Aircraft, Rail, and Shipping ). Our philosophy is to encourage Associates to focus on more than one area of Structured and Asset Finance, enabling our lawyers to develop expertise in more than one area and enjoy a broad variety of work of very high quality.

Our SAF team has advised on all major innovations within the securitisation market. With regards to structured finance, the team acts for a variety of financial institutions, originators, arrangers, underwriters and monoline insurers. The practice encompasses tax-efficient transactions, balance sheet regulatory structures, derivatives, specialised capital markets issues and securitisation.

SAF Associates benefit from a broad international network and have the opportunity to work on cross border transactions. Whilst enjoying working on projects from a number of partners across all areas of the SAF team, Associates are also provided with a comprehensive training programme and mentoring scheme.

Your main responsibilities as a Structured and Asset Finance Associate will involve:

• Advising clients on legal and commercial issues
• Drafting and negotiating transaction documents
• Managing transactions
• Managing client relationships
• Actively participating in business development and client events
• Training and managing trainees and junior lawyers

Your skills and qualifications as a Structured and Asset Finance Associate will ideally include:

• High quality lawyer with a strong technical and commercial background
• Experience in structured or asset finance
• Intellectually strong with first class academics
• Strong technical and commercial abilities

What we are looking for in you:

You will have strong technical and commercial abilities, and will be able to work effectively as part of a team and supervise more junior lawyers / trainees. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to take on a high degree of responsibility and manage a challenging workload. You must also be proactive and committed to providing an excellent service to our clients.
