Team Legal Secretary - Job Description
To provide the Department with typing and secretarial support.
To assist fee earners in the department in all aspects of their work.
To assist with digital dictation and administrative support across the firm in line with the Firm’s workflow ethic.
Accountabilities:
• deal with administrative routines as required to include computer printouts, incoming and outgoing cheques
• transcribe and prepare all typing, word processing and copying requirements
• operate case management system
• manage incoming and outgoing mail
• manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls, e-mails and facsimile transmissions as required
• be involved in the efficient management of client/matter files
• assist with reception of clients and arrangement of meetings as required
• assist in management and recording of time and in preparation of billing
• manage specific client files under supervision
• accuracy and duty of care and information security
• knowledge of relevant administrative procedures – particularly in the management of files, bills, documents, cash and cheques
• appreciation of legal procedures
• knowledge of relevant computer retrieval information systems
• work within relevant administrative systems and procedures, particularly in the management of cash and cheques, the filing of files, bills, correspondence and documents
• flexibility – to be a member of a team of secretaries and to assist with work on a departmental level
Skills, Experience, Qualifications
• Previous Legal Secretarial experience
• Audio Typing Skills
• Copy Typing Skills
• Excellent Accuracy
• Organisational Skills
• Digital Dictation (not essential as training will be given)
• Case Management (not essential as training will be given)
• Competence in spelling, punctuation and grammer

• Holidays: 24 days per annum of which one may be designated at Christmas and 8 public holidays. Holiday entitlement increases to 26 days (including one designated day) following 5 years service.
