EU Tracker Tax Case Editor
EU Tracker Tax Case Editor - Job Description
EU Tracker Editors
LexisNexis, a division of the global publishing company Reed Elsevier Plc, is a leader in professional publishing and a pioneering solutions provider. We are changing the way the world shares information through a unique combination of authoritative content, powerful on-line research and advanced productivity tools. We have moved beyond supplying text information to delivering vibrant solutions which transform organisations.
Just one example of this strategy is our groundbreaking new online product, known as EU Tracker, which provides customers with access to core EU cases, legislation and materials, as well as tracking the progress of tax cases and the implementation of legal directives across the member states.
We are currently recruiting for two editors to take responsibility for creating, updating and developing the content for the EU Tracker, one focusing on EU Law, and the other on EU Tax Cases. These positions provide an opportunity to get involved in an exciting new product, to develop content expertise in a fast moving area, and to build a network of contacts throughout the member states of the European Union. Moreover, our editors work as part of a dynamic team including Woking fabrication, Content Solutions and GSD who together enhance, maintain and develop EU Tracker. The EU tracker team also works closely with our colleagues in the other LexisNexis European business units sharing domain expertise and promoting the product across Europe.
Successful applicants for these roles should have a sound editorial background, as well as demonstrable understanding of EU legislation, and for the Tax Cases role, experience with case law. The ability to build networks and develop relationships with outside contacts is crucial, along with sound problem-solving skills and a keen interest in developing a new product. Our Legal Editor must be fluent in an Eastern European language (preferably Polish) with English to an advanced level (at minimum).
Desirable Skills:
• A law degree and/or professional legal or tax qualification.
• A third European language would be an advantage.
• Experience of using other European Law information sources.
• Experience of xml and writing content for web-based services.
We offer the following benefits:
• 28.5 days holiday
• Pension including Life Cover
• 35 hour week
• Discounted gym membership
• Employee Assistance Programme
• Save As You Earn Scheme
