EU Tracker Technical Writer/Editor - Job Description
The Text Resources department works across Publishing Operations to provide co-ordination, training, process and product enhancement, information architecture and information resources for all Publishing Operations content, in whatever media and as content consultants to a range of content-enabled solutions. The department launched a new European Law online product in November 2007 and is recruiting a technical editor to join the editorial team who create, update and develop the content of the product.
Information about the job
We are recruiting for a technical editor to take responsibility for creating, updating and developing the content for our European Law online product called EU Tracker. The technical editor will take responsibility for up to five member states of the European Union and will join the existing editorial team of four technical editors. The EU Tracker online product tracks and analyses the implementation of Directives across the member states of the European Union and in addition gives customers access to core EU cases, legislation and materials. This position provides an opportunity to get involved in an exciting new product, to develop content expertise in a fast moving area and to build a network of contacts throughout the member states of the European Union.
The editor will work as part of a dynamic team including Woking fabrication, Content Solutions and GSD who together enhance, maintain and develop EU Tracker. The EU tracker team also works closely with our colleagues in the other LexisNexis European business units sharing domain expertise and promoting the product across Europe.
Key Skills we’re looking for
The successful applicant should have solid editorial experience, experience of and an understanding of EU legislation. The ability to build networks with outside contacts, proven problem solving skills and a keen interest in European law are essential. Fluent in an Eastern European language (preferably Polish) with English at minimum to an advanced level.
Desirable Skills we’re looking for
A law degree and/or professional legal or tax qualification.
A third European language would be an advantage.
Experience of using other European Lawinformation sources.
Experience of xml and writing content for web-based services.
