Trade Mark Attorney - Job Description

Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons is a full-service practice with over 100 partners and around 700 staff. For many years the Legal 500 has rated the firm as the overall leading player in the South East region.



Our IP group comprises of 16 people across the region and we are ranked number one for IP in the South of England according to the independent legal guide, Chambers UK.



At the moment we have a significant amount of specialist trade mark work spread over two or three IP solicitors and it would seem more effective to recruit a true specialist to do this work and grow our trade mark client base/workload.



The work will include UK and CTM registration and opposition work, brand strategy advice and, instructing agents on international registrations where appropriate. Experience of dealing with registered designs would also be helpful.



We do have a track record of investing in the ongoing development of our staff and you will be no exception, as we further develop your expertise and promote your services internally and externally.

experience and qualifications required
At least two years relevant, good quality experience
ITMA qualified or part-qualified
Track record of practice development or the potential and desire to do this
Team player, flexible
Excellent organisational and administration skills
Highly computer literate
May suit self-employed specialists who want to be part of a bigger team
Experienced staff who need to work part time will be of interest to us too
