Our client is a leading international law firm with a major multi-national partnership. Their work is cross-border, high profile and complex. The international nature of the practice means that apart from the branch offices and formal associations, they have developed a strong world-wide network of correspondents enabling them to service clients' needs in over 120 countries. 40% of business comes from clients based outside the UK and 20% of fees are from offices outside the UK. Overall the Firm employs over 1,000 people worldwide and of these, over 500 are qualified lawyers. The partnership currently stands at around 140. The firm has built a specialist position advising international business on trading and commercial matters and critical to this is a commercial pragmatic approach.

This well regarded firm is currently looking for a qualified trade mark attorney to join their office in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have some experience in trade mark clearance searching, filing and persecution both locally and internationally. The person should be able to handle international filing programmes and be ready to deal with instructing and liaising with overseas correspondents regarding trade mark prosecutions and third party conflicts and oppositions.

Additional responsibilities will include:
• Communicating with lay and professional clients
• Drafting responses to office actions
• Drafting trade mark licences, assignments and similar documentation
• Dealing with copyright and other intellectual property issues
