Transactional Construction & Engineering (4yrs+PQE) - Job Description
We are currently looking to recruit transactional construction and engineering lawyers who have from 4+ years PQE to join our Projects & International Construction Group, preferably based in Leeds or London.
Successful candidates could have experience in all types of procurement of major capital assets, construction, engineering and energy and/or utilities related infrastructure projects whether in the UK or elsewhere and should be ready to develop and enhance their existing skills in innovative and complex procurement scenarios.
Candidates will ideally have gained experience in a city or international or large regional practice. They must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic. They will be a team player with a strong client focused approach. They will also have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills.
Examples of recent work:
The team acts for clients such as China National Petroleum Pipeline Company, EBRD, National Grid, Scottish Power, RWE Npower, Shell and United Utilities. Our recent projects include: onshore and offshore wind farms, water treatment works, a new CCGT power station, powerlines for the 2012 Olympic Games, nuclear decommissioning and nuclear waste management, desalination plants, steam turbine replants, a diamond mine, a shipping terminal and new LNG transmission and storage facilities. Not only is our work diverse across a number of sectors but so is the geographical spread with projects currently in the UK, India, Former Soviet Union, West Africa, and the Middle East.

Our Projects & International Construction Group specialises in international construction and energy (both national and international) projects based in London, Leeds, Manchester, Dubai, Hong Kong and Shanghai. We have a wealth of experience and expertise and pride ourselves on understanding our clients' business needs and the industries in which they operate. Many of our lawyers have worked for contractors or procurers or have been seconded to legal departments of major international energy and construction companies. A number of our lawyers are also qualified engineers, architects and surveyors.
In the energy sector we have a wide range of experience in the power (including nuclear and renewables) and oil and gas sectors. We represent clients across the spectrum of these industries, including, generators, transmission companies, owners and operators, public and private utilities, oil exploration and refining companies, international contractors, banks and governments.
