We currently have an opportunity for a Solicitor to join our busy Clinical Negligence department in our London office on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Role:
Our Clinical Negligence department is looking to recruit an experienced Solicitor between 3-4 years PQE to work on complex claimant clinical negligence claims.
Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Client Service:
> To give accurate prompt advice in response to clients’ enquiries.
> To liaise with clients, keeping them informed of the progress of their case(s), and where appropriate to ensure that institutional clients’ internal regulations are complied with.
Business Focus:
> To achieve your agreed annual budgetary objectives.
> To turn around cases within agreed departmental guidelines, giving the consideration to the complexity of the matter and any court or other external deadlines.
> To be pro-active in the marketing of Slater & Gordon Lawyers at all times and attending client functions and events as requested.
> To act professionally and in accordance with the Law Society requirements at all times in the conduct of Client matters.
> To act in accordance with Slater & Gordon Lawyers' policies and procedures at all times.
Self Development:
> To understand own limitations and refer to Supervisor for support & advice where necessary.
> To take part in the firm’s Education and Training programme, attending appropriate internal seminars and be prepared to lead an Education session in your area of expertise.
> To keep abreast of changes in legislation and case law as it affects Solicitors, and ensure personal training and development is up to date and in accordance with Law Society requirements.
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
> Must be a qualified Solicitor.
> Proven ability to achieve agreed annual budgetary objectives
> Adaptability/flexibility.
> Proficient use of case management systems and Microsoft Office.
> Excellent oral and written communication skills and high standard of client care.
> Capable of using initiative and demonstrating a clear methodical approach to work.
> Ability to deal with competing demands and prioritise workload effectively.

I am recruiting for an ambitious Clinical Negligence Solicitor for a prestigious Legal 500 firm in Manchester. The successful Clinical Negligence Solicitor will be working as part of an established and reputable Clinical Negligence team, handling your own case load of fast track, multi track and complex clinical negligence matters.
Day to day the Clinical Negligence Solicitor will manage a caseload of claimant medical negligence matters, from birth negligence, orthopaedic, dental and cosmetic surgery claims to surgical errors, misdiagnosis and cancer claims. From instruction through to satisfactory conclusion, you will get lots of client contact and be responsible for delivering an impeccable service.
The successful clinical negligence solicitor will have a minimum of 1 year PQE and will be a proven litigator who has gained a wealth of experience within claimant clinical negligence work. The ability to work through a case from instruction to settlement is essential. Working within the department, you will be a team player and able to work to both individual and team targets.
You will be working for one of the top multi service firms in the North West- they are one of the leaders within the clinical negligence market and are able to attract the best quality work.
Salary is dependant on experience.
