Insurance Solicitor - Our client is a leading international legal business who have two exciting new opportunities within their Large Loss team in Birmingham due to continued growth and success. Insurance Lawyer - Our client is a leading International law firm and they are currently looking to recruit experienced fee earners (Paralegals, Litigation
Executives, Legal Executives or Solicitors) to join their Claims Validation team in Birmingham. The team deal with potential fraudulent claims, with a focus on motor and employer’s liability/public liability work.

Specific responsibilities will include handling a varied caseload of pre litigated and litigated work, covering Low Speed cases, Phantom Passengers, Contrived Claims, Staged claims and exaggerated claims. The role will also support the more experienced fee earners in the team in the more complex/larger
fraud cases. There will be an opportunity to support marketing and business development activity within the team e.g. attending
marketing events and client training. The Claims Validation Team has built up very close links with the Solicitors Regulatory Authority – specifically the Fraud Intelligence Unit and will be supplying data to the Law Society in the future so that active auditing of certain solicitors firms/sole principals can take place. The team has worked closely with SOCA, statistics are being provided to SOCA on solicitors firms where exaggerated/fraudulent claims have been made with a view to SOCA exercising their powers to deal with these firms.In appropriate cases – mainly the ringed fraud, making formal complaints to the Police under the APCO Guidelines.

As the ideal candidate you will be a UK qualified solicitor (or overseas equivalent) and may have a minimum of 6 months relevant litigation experience, ideally gained within a personal injury environment but this does not preclude someone with more qualified experience from applying for the role. Expertise in fraud is beneficial, but not essential, as the successful candidate will be fully trained in dealing with fraud cases.

A range of litigation solicitors is required for this top 20 law firm to handle an insurance fraud caseload. Insurance litigation solicitors, commercial litigation solicitors, civil litigation solicitors, and family solicitors looking to cross over to a new area are all encouraged to apply.
