My client is a growing international law firm specializing in litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance and liability areas. They have offices spanning the globe and over 1000 employees, with headquarters in the City of London and several other offices in the UK.

They are now looking to hire an Assistant Cashiering Manager to contribute to the effectiveness of the Finance department.

Key Responsibilities

Motivating, mentoring and providing leadership to the Cashiering team; setting and reviewing performance objectives.

Ensuring that members of the Cashiering team receive timely and appropriate training to deliver their roles.

Working closely with the Cashiering Manager to assist them in the management of the Firm’s Cashiering function.

Day to day supervision of team members to ensure the correct workflow and accuracy of work.

Ensure adequate staffing to support a fully functioning Cashiering team. Ensure a high standard of work output and quality of information within the Cashiering team.

Ensure that Cashier processes comply with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority Accounting Rules (SAR AR) and VAT regulations in the UK and overseas offices.

Managing of money market accounts and inter-bank account transfers.

Liaising with the firm’s bankers and other external contacts to resolve operational issues.

Assisting the International offices with day to day cashiering queries.

Candidate Profile

You will be an experienced Legal Cashier with detailed knowledge of processes within an international law firm and full up to date knowledge of the SARs. Have working knowledge of online banking systems and the VAT Regulations.

Excellent analytical and financial skills with good attention to detail will be required. Must also have strong IT skills and possess good knowledge of a practice management system, such as Elite/ Elite 3E/ Aderant.
