My Client is a growing international law firm specializing in litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance and liability areas. They have offices spanning the globe and over 1000 employees, with headquarters in the City of London and several other offices in the UK.

The successful candidate will work within the Accounts Processing team contributing to the Finance department. This is a great opportunity to advance a career in Legal Finance. 

Responsibilities

Supervision of team members to ensure correct workflow and precision of work as well as providing an effective and timely service to the firm

To work with the Partners, Finance Director and Accounts Processing Manager

Provide regular credit control reports for the Senior Partner, Chief Executive, Divisional Head, Finance Partners and Finance Director

Initiating meetings with Partners and Lawyers to discuss aged debts and client account balances

Maintaining a well organised Credit Control function so the team can respond to all requests in a timely and efficient manner

Ensure the team update the credit control database and ensure a high standard of work output and quality of information within the Credit Control team

To work with the Cashiering team to ensure the prompt and accurate allocation of bill receipts

To understand market collections and ensure this knowledge is passed to other members of the team

To monitor the status of large unpaid bills

To ensure adherence to the firms working practices, quality procedures and protocols and information security systems as specified by the firm

To ensure a proactive approach is taken to carrying out all duties to maintain and improve client relations

To undertake any specific training course identified by the HR Department, line managers or external training provider

To undertake any other duties requested by the Accounts Processing Manager

Candidate Profile

Strong IT skills; Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Elite 3E (or similar)

Evident experience of internal and external compliance

Detailed working knowledge of Credit Control processes

Knowledge of SAR and VAT gained through experience and preferably supported by qualification

Able to balance competing priorities as well as being flexible and adaptable

Excellent analytical and financial skills

Able to lead and motivate a team including goal setting and performance management

Excellent communication and relationship building skills, developed in a partnership environment

Good track record of developing and delivering process improvement projects and change management initiatives across revenue
