Lovells to lose Middle East managing partner
Friday, 6th February 2009, 00::00
Lovells' Middle East managing partner is to leave the firm, it has emerged.
Shibeer Ahmed is to vacate his position in the company's Dubai office at the end of April, with Lovells expected to relocate corporate partner Nick Parden - who is currently based in London - to the emirate to act as Mr Ahmed's replacement.
He will be joined by current head of Islamic finance Rahail Ali, who will be co-head of the firm's Middle East practice.
Mr Ahmed has not revealed what he is planning to do after stepping down, but it is expected that he will take up a new legal job at a rival firm.
Earlier this year Lovells announced a new managing partner for continental Europe.
The company unveiled Christoph Kueppers in late January as the replacement for Harald Seisler, who left his role in November of 2008 after being defeated in the firm's managing partner elections.
