A breath of fresh air for residential conveyancers across England

A week on from the sweeping changes to stamp duty that were announced in the Chancellor's Autumn Statement on 3 December 2014, estate agents are reporting renewed interest from buyers as the traditional pre Christmas lull has come to an abrupt end since the announcement.

Under the new scheme, in which the chancellor slashed stamp duty for all properties costing up to £937,000, scores of home buyers have already reported saving thousands of pounds due to the imminent introduction.

One estate agency has reported a 15% increase in inquiries recently, as more people suddenly find that they have more money to splash out on a new home than they originally thought.

This welcome move is a breath of fresh air for Residential Conveyancing departments across the country; as many have had to make gruelling choices on either shrinking or diminishing residential property from their portfolios altogether.

But now, the tide is slowly beginning to change for those conveyancers who were once contemplating turning off the lights and closing the door to a career in residential property; It’s now time to switch the lights back on and latch the door wide open to an increase in property  buying or selling instructions.

As per the findings of the estate agency which reported a 15% increase in inquiries, law of averages would dictate that the more enquiries received, the more chance of a sale or purchase, which will lead to a greater use of Legal Conveyancing Services – some firms are already turning conveyancing work down as demand outstrips supply in certain areas.

Our experience in recruitment is certainly reflecting this – as instructions to source experienced residential conveyancers for our new and existing clients reaches an all time high!

Regardless of where in the country you are, if you’re an experienced residential conveyancer looking for your next all important move, then please do get in touch with our dedicated consultants who will assist you.
