Last month’s job inventory data revealed that there has been a 13% year-on-year increase in the number of live jobs in Employment Law.

Alongside this increase, recruiter searches for employment lawyers and legal professionals in the TotallyLegal CV database have gone up by 9% since March.

There is a clear demand for employment sector staff, which interestingly comes at a time where uncertainty surrounding Brexit has made an impact on the job market.

Recent REC Report findings point towards concerns on the employer side – with the number of permanent and temporary vacancies rising but candidate supply declining.

There is good news for employees however. Recent data from the Office of National Statistics has indicated that average earnings are rising, increasing by 3.4% in 3 months.

Regardless of the current unstable climate, employment lawyers are clearly in demand. This practice area is one of the most varied, simply because no matter the size of the firm, employment is a cycle ranging from initial hiring to termination of contract.

Now might be the time to look for your next role in the employment sector.
