Will Pupillage recruitment move to January?

The Bar Council is currently assessing the existing Pupillage Gateway to determine whether it should move from April to January.  Pupillage is the final stage of training to become a barrister.

Currently Undergraduate law students can apply for a pupillage in April of their 3rd University year, to start in September of the following year. New proposals from the Bar Council would see this change to January. This change could prevent clashes with exams and pupillage exams.

The Bar Council have invited all stakeholders involved in pupillage recruitment to submit their views to the proposal.
