The In-House Legal Counsel will be required to support legal team in London

Description

The In-House Legal Counsel will be responsible for the following:

• Providing effective and commercially focused legal advice to all commercial functions, directors and other senior managers, seeking external advice where necessary
• Areas include consumer law, consumer contracts, competition advice, property and marketing and advertising
• Drafting, negotiating and advising on legal documentation generated by ongoing commercial activities
• This includes ensuring that legal contracts and new supplier discussions are legally sound
• Analysing the development and implementation of all new laws and regulations as well as maintaining an effective working knowledge of all relevant areas of law and working with the team to take appropriate action

Profile

The ideal candidate must have the following experience and qualifications:

• Solicitor with a degree
• Any legal qualification must be recognised by the Law Society or Bar Council in England and Wales
• The ideal candidate will have trained and qualified with a reputable law firm, with considerable in-house experience (within the travel organisation will be advantageous)
• The candidate must have a proven record of working as part of a team, as well as acting autonomously
• Excellent organisational skills are required in order to managing a broad caseload and prioritise demanding deadline
• The ability to advise the businesses from both a legal and commercial standpoint, and offer pragmatic solutions, is essential.
