Head of Practice - Employment

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Head of Practice to join a Legal 500 firm situated on the outskirts of Oxford to become an instrumental part of a well-established Employment department.

This role will suit a senior lawyer with a strong reputation in his/her field with the overall objective to ensure client work is delegated according to skills and strengths and completed in an efficient and effective manner.

As a Head of Practice you will be responsible for Professional expertise, operations, strategy and Planning, customer service, finance and risk management, people and workload management.

In order to be eligible, the candidate will ideally be highly experienced with at least 10 years post qualifying experience with:-

A technical legal expert in their specialist legal area.
An excellent personal reputation in the market that has been built by producing legal content and external thought pieces.
Passionate about client care, service excellence and demonstrable experience in client relationship management.
Delivers results in business development and networking.
Delivers on targets, able to work with practice area members to convert opportunities into sales and into profit.
Manages risk and compliance obligations in end-to-end client transactions and matter management processes.
Conforms and contributes to firm-wide processes while thinking innovatively about how to continuously improve how we operate.
Passionate about sharing knowledge and developing technical professional expertise in others.
Effectively handles client feedback and complaints.
Credible manager of medium/large teams, possibly across different geographical locations.
Coaches, mentors and manages individuals to give of their best and produce high quality legal work.

As a Head of Practice, you will be reporting into the Director of Legal Services, whilst maintaining key relationships with the Chair of Partnership Board, CEO, Equity and Fixed Share Partners, Directors of Legal Services, other Head of Practice Area, and Deputy CEO.
