Family Legal Aid Costs Specialist

I am currently recruiting an experienced individual with expertise in Family Legal Aid work, in particular the billing and assessment process.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a good knowledge of Legal Aid schemes and the changes that we have seen in recent years.

You will need to have a good technical knowledge and plenty of experience of drafting claims.

Confident negotiation and communication skills will be paramount and you will be able to work unsupervised on the drafting of claims, interim costs and preparation of reports. The firm are looking for a confident and assured individual who is able to hit the ground running.

First class client relationship and team building skills are also important, along with the confidence to challenge as necessary. There are good computer and billing systems in place to assist you with your job.

• Analytical skills and attention to detail are essential. Candidate must consistently produce work which is highly accurate and well-presented.
• Experience of working in Costs or an associated position, working either in-house or for an external supplier of costs drafting services in desirable

This is a standalone role supporting a busy family team working from various sites across the firm and as such there can be some flexibility in the base location. The firm are looking for a committed individual to take responsibility and ownership for their work.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
