Principal Lawyer required to join a Local Authority based in London for an initial 6 month period.
This is an excellent opportunity to undertake a senior role within a popular authority. The position will consist of an equal split of both managerial duties and casework, which will appeal to experienced Lawyers wanting to maintain a balance between legal work and furthering their career in management.
The ideal Principal Lawyer will come from a Contracts or Property background, as the majority of the workload will be based around these areas of law. Additionally, any Planning experience would be highly beneficial, although our Client is keen to hear from Principal Lawyers who may have come from other specialisms.
Due to the level of responsibility that the successful candidate will be accountable for, previous managerial experience is essential. The Principal Lawyer will directly manage at least 3 other Lawyers, and will need to prioritise their management duties alongside their own caseload, as well as handling any ad-hoc queries that may arise.
The ideal candidate will have previous public sector experience, although this is not essential providing a good knowledge of public law is held.
The office is well located, situated a stone's throw away from shops and restaurants. The nearest public transport links are also within walking distance, making this a very desirable location. In order to maximise work-life-balance, this Council allows its employees to work a maximum of 1 day per week from home.
