My client, a significant figure within Personal Injury law in the North East of England is currently searching for a Senior Costs Clerk to join their Costs Department to negotiate maximum recovery of both profit costs and disbursements and to assist other members of the team with this also.

In recent years, the firm has broadened their focus, and now specialises in accidents at work and accidents in a public place, as well as road traffic accidents.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Negotiate costs and disbursements
- Achieve best possible settlement within given parameters and targets
- Assisting in resolving escalated queries from the team
- Assisting in development of new procedures to ensure efficiency
- Assisting with the training and coaching of the team and new starters
- Issue Cost-Only Proceedings/ Applications
- Preparation of Bills, Schedules and Statement of Costs for Assessment
- Preparing Points of Reply, Joint Statements and Witness Statements
- Preparation of other Court documents where necessary
- Dealing with general enquires relating to accounts
- Advocacy as and when appropriate
