An opportunity has arisen for an employment lawyer to join a boutique employment practice in Cambridge on a permanent basis.
The employment team currently comprises of three lawyers, however due to an increase in workload and plans for progression and growth, the firm is looking to recruit another employment lawyer to join their team.
The workload is a broad mixture of Claimant and Respondent matters on both a contentious and non-contentious basis. The split between contentious and non-contentious matters is 50/50 thus candidates are required to have experience in dealing with a mixed caseload.
Due to the broad nature of the role, the successful candidate can expect their caseload to cover the following:
- Contracts of employment
- Settlement agreements
- Disciplinary action and grievance procedures
- Discrimination for sex, race, disability, age and religion or belief
- Employment Tribunals
- Maternity and Paternity leave
- Minimum wage
- Redundancy and dismissal
- Restrictive covenants
- Service agreements
- Transfer regulations upon company acquisitions
- TUPE including indemnities and warranties
- Unfair dismissal
- Whistle blowing
- Wrongful dismissal and breach of contract
- Corporate support
- Drafting of company handbooks and policies
Successful candidates are likely to have upwards of three years PQE and solid experience in dealing with a range of employment law matters.
