Our client is a multi-office practice with expertise encompassing all aspects of civil, commercial and criminal law. With a number of departments ranked in the upper tiers of the Legal 500 they endeavour to provide first class advice and representation, meeting and exceeding client needs. They offer a supportive working environment and structured career progression for staff and are currently undergoing a period of expansion, requiring a specialist Court of Protection Lawyer for their office in the City.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically excellent and driven Court of Protection Lawyer to join our clients’ well-regarded practice in the heart of London. Becoming part of a specialist department, the successful Lawyer will manage a demanding caseload encompassing all aspects of Court of Protection work. Matters will include: applications and appeals under the Mental Capacity Act; statutory Wills; Health and Welfare applications; deputyships and; trusts. In addition, the ideal Lawyer will provide support and guidance to junior members of the team and play an active role in business development activities for the department and firm as a whole.

The Candidate
You must be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 3 years’ PQE.
You must have a solid background in Court of Protection with Health and Welfare and Deprivation of Liberty expertise.
You must be able to manage a full and varied caseload with minimal supervision.
Prior experience of supervising junior members of a team is essential for the position.
You will have an aptitude for business development.
You will be dedicated, personable and IT literate.
