New Business/Sales & Marketing Executive

I am currently recruiting a New Business/Sales & Marketing Executive on behalf of a highly reputable law firm at their York office.

This is a brand new role to ensure the firm are capturing the maximum number of new instructions from the enquiries generated from existing clients, the website and other marketing initiatives across all departments of the firm.

The role is a client relations and sales position to include day to day responsibility for the administration and organisation of new enquiries, providing effective management of the enquiries pipeline including timely follow-ups and accurate reporting of the enquiries at different stages.  The role will prioritise prospective clients and will involve a high level of telephone work but will not involve cold calling.

As the New Business/Sales & Marketing Executive you will provide an initial service to the client via a call handling procedure to ensure that all client leads are contacted and subsequently converted where possible.  You will improve the conversion rates by monitoring and reporting on the same, responding to the clients needs and updating the service procedure to ensure a program of continual improvement.  As the New Business/Sales & Marketing Executive will be expected to instil confidence into the clients and create the initial client expectation and service level.

This role involves proactively taking control and managing all of the non-legal administration set up of all new enquiries and converted leads so as to facilitate the efficient delivery of the matter to the fee earner including opening and organising the file and electronic client and matter files, organising appointments via the electronic diary, updating case information, drafting initial client care documentation and liaising with the relevant fee earners/departments regarding costs and inputting the same into the case management system.


To use own initiative and take full responsibility for providing a comprehensive and seamless process for new enquiries to instruction.

Taking and distributing telephone calls and messages ensuring a coordinated and speedy response to all enquiries whilst liaising with the relevant department.

Obtaining initial data and case information and capturing the same via the systems and process defined.

Identify the key data required for each department and case type to 1. Convert the lead, 2. Ascertain all data for current market analysis and future marketing, and 3. Refer the lead for further detailed discussion to the relevant fee earner or open the file.

Ensuring the marketing areas of the case management system are completed updated and maintained.

Data to be reported on will include but is not limited to number of leads per month by department and case type, source of the new leads, conversion rates by department, reasons for failure to convert, average cost per lead based on marketing spend by campaign, number of follow ups required to convert, appointments made, and existing client referral.

Design and implement the process for the specific marketing project leads and the general day to day enquiries.

Training the fee earners and staff on dealing with enquiries, sales techniques and managing client expectations.
