Sole Legal Counsel – Financial Services – 2+ PQE

A Sole Legal Counsel position has arisen at a growing financial institution based in central London. The appointee will sit alongside the senior executives within the company in a collegiate and friendly environment. The successful candidate will have two years or more post qualification experience, and will have gained some experience in an in-house environment. The ability to draft, review, negotiate and conclude contracts is imperative. Experience working in an FCA regulated business or as a commercial lawyer within the financial services industry is advantageous.  The role will be a broad one (as sole legal counsel) and therefore, a willingness to “up-skill” and diversify will be required. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing advice on FCA Rules and Regulations to the business;
• Assisting with the development of relevant products;
• Drafting applicable policies;
• Assisting the Compliance Officer and providing general legal support across all areas of the business when necessary.
