European Business Development Manager

One of the most prestigious New York firms on Wall Street, with a global footprint, widely considered to be among the very elite group of corporate firms in the world require an experienced transactional lawyer with the gravitas to work with the Managing Partners of New York, London and Brussels to join their Business Development function here in London as a European Senior Manager.

The role will involve identifying business opportunities across the European markets for the Firm's global practice as well as establishing business development plans to realise and capitalise on those opportunities. The demands and responsibilities of the role dictate that the desired candidate should have transactional experience at a firm of a comparable level prior to deciding to pursue a career in developing business. Given the calibre of the firm in question the desired candidate should have experience of developing and manging relationships with the larger and more prestigious financial institutions and corporates. Experience within the private equity space would be beneficial and given the European-wide focus of the remit the firm would see those candidates with European languages, particularly French and/or German, being of particular interest as well.

The firm would like to see candidates with a range of experience and attributes but in order to be considered you would ideally have:

• fee earning experience as a qualified lawyer, ideally being New York qualified but UK qualified candidates will be considered
• pertinent transactional experience within corporate, private equity and finance practice areas
• the gravitas to work with Managing Partners and Global BD heads
• exposure to working with European clients
• lived and worked in Europe
• business development experience
• experience of managing a team
