Our client is an established global leader in the entertainment programming world. It creates an award winning range of entertainment genres and covers development, production, marketing, distribution and franchise management of content.
The Head of Business and Legal Affairs is looking for a television lawyer to join its creative and dynamic team as a Legal & Business Affairs Manager. This role has a focus primarily on the production cycle but you will also be involved in all legal, compliance, rights clearance and related matters for each production that you have responsibility for, as well as the distribution of content and terms of trade issues.
You will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements with broadcasters and financiers including trust letters, development agreements, production agreements, distribution agreements, website agreements and publishing agreements. You will also advise on general legal queries including employment law, intellectual property, data protection and Ofcom compliance. Experience of reviewing, negotiating and drafting merchandising, licensing and digital product agreements will also be beneficial.
You must be a qualified lawyer with experience of working for a TV production company or a UK broadcaster. You will be approachable, commercial and highly efficient with an ability to deal with complex issues.
