Our Clinical Negligence team in London are looking for two Solicitors to support our Partners in running a busy and varied caseload of the NHS Resolution ("NHSR") claims. This is a great opportunity to join a highly reputable department, ranked in the top tier for Defendant Clinical Negligence in both Chambers and Legal 500.

Team Information:

Our defendant only practice based both in London, Cambridge and Birmingham advises the NHSR, 60 NHS Trusts, Medical Protection Society and medical malpractice insurers of private hospitals and clinics on clinical negligence claims. We also advise on health law advice, regulatory matters and represent clients at inquests and judicial reviews and give guidance on clinical risk management.

Type of Clients:

NHSR, NHS Trusts & NHS Bodies.

Type of Cases:

Generally claims up to a value of £500,000 both pre-litigation and in litigation covering the full range of clinical negligence issues including, surgical, obstetric, orthopaedic and psychiatric.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Strong Academics (2.1 or higher degree) or equivalent

Desirable:

  • UK Qualified Solicitor or Foreign Qualified Solicitor with relevant experience.

Experience:

Essential:

  • 1-3 years* defendant clinical negligence experience.
  • Ability to run own caseload with supervision.

Desirable:

  • Previous client contact and attendance at business development events.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to give and take instruction.
  • Ability to apply a forensic approach, but also deliver economic solutions.
  • To be proactive and take initiative.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage own time, excellent organisation skills.
  • Strong technical and research skills.
