HC-One Organisation Overview

HC-One currently operates care homes across the UK and employs around 12,000 employees. Annual revenues are currently forecast at £340m.  The organisation has been through significant transformation and considerable M&A activity including acquisition, divestment, equity raising and financing and the strategy is to continue growth through acquisitions whilst improving profitability through operational performance (eg. Improving occupancy, fee rate growth and cost control).

Legal Director - Overview

The Legal Director is a newly created position due to the volume of M&A activity across the group. The role will add in-house Legal/M&A expertise with the core purpose to provide legal and technical support to HC-One leadership team whilst reducing legal spend throughout the group. 

The Legal Director will take ownership and responsibility for all in house M&A legal activity assisting in asset management and also some minor company secretary duties. The Legal Director will be comfortable influencing and supporting the Board and senior Management team with provision of legal expertise and information and also be a key relationship contact for external advisers.

The Person

We imagine the successful candidate to be an experienced solicitor, having held senior positions for several years with corporate law and / or commercial law.  You will have experienced an environment that is similar to HC-One from a large business M&A/transaction perspective and be familiar with a deal size synonymous with HC ONE’s acquisitions (£100m+). 

The person should be used to embracing corporate challenges, specifically, organisational size, multi-site structure, pace of operation and change.
