Description

  • Providing insight on current and emerging personal data and privacy compliance matters, with a particular focus on customer-facing data handling activities.

  • Work with the Head of Privacy and Data Protection Compliance in directing the business on sensitive and complex privacy compliance data including data breach incidents, complex Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and complaints.

  • In this role, you'll need to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders globally, providing input into workshops with key functions, work with NSC Compliance Officers and Privacy Leads or Champions.

Profile

  • You'll demonstrate extensive experience as legal counsel with expertise in the data protection compliance field.
  • You'll be a qualified lawyer, and ideally you'll hold a recognised qualification in Data Protection (such as IAPP or BCS Chartered Institute) and have an understanding of information security concepts.
  • A strong, confident communicator with excellent presentation skills, you'll have the ability to convey complex legal concepts into simple operational requirements. You'll have a sound understanding of the challenges the business faces developing effective policies based on best practice, which will enable you to operationalise privacy compliance so that it includes privacy practices such as impact assessments, handling data subject's requests, employee monitoring, vendor contracts and breach management.
