Costs Paralegal

Are you an experienced Costs Paralegal looking for a new challenge within an award winning claimant Personal Injury law firm? You will be required to have a minimum of 1 year costs experience of running your own costs caseload, including drafting budgets and negotiating.
 
The firm offers great career prospects, as the firm offers training contracts or support through the ACL qualification.
 
Experience of cost budgeting both from a drafting point of view and attendance at CCMC’s is essential as you will have a mixed cased load which will include number of Cost Management files at various stages throughout the litigation.
 
Duties include:

• Negotiating settlement of costs in litigated and non-litigated claimant personal injury cases
• Advising fee earners regarding costs disputes and assisting with their own negotiations
• Preparation of summary assessment schedules, breakdowns of costs at case conclusion and formal bills where detailed assessment or Part 8 proceedings are required
• Drafting replies to Points of Dispute
• Drafting Budgets
• Advocacy / attending CCMC’s
• Budget Revision Work
• Supporting more junior team members
