LAW Absolute is currently working with a well-known and highly regarded Top 200 city practice who has a contract opportunity for a private client solicitor to join them on an interim basis for 3 months as a professional support lawyer. Previous experience as a knowledge and development lawyer ( KDL) or professional support lawyer (PSL) is desired but not essential. However experience of tax, trusts and succession planning is due to the nature of the work involved..
Your responsibilities will include;
- Drafting, reviewing, maintaining and updating precedents, practice notes, checklists and all other forms of know-how documents required by the practice groups
- Facilitating the collection of useful know-how from fee-earners, reviewing this and making it available for sharing around the group Working with the team to develop and maintain a comprehensive, accessible firm wide systems, on which all practice group know-how is maintained.
- Working with the IS team and the groups’ KM partners to identify the external knowledge resources (legal and business-based) required by the groups
- Developing legal training programs for all members of the practice group to ensure that they are skilled to the highest levels of competence and practice for their roles. The role may involve delivery of training depending on the requirements of the group
- Facilitating and leading know-how meetings and other knowledge sharing activities, such as project debriefs, to ensure that key knowledge areas, new developments and the practical knowledge and experience of the group’s fee-earners are shared amongst them
- Providing practically based, supplemental alerts
- Assisting fee-earners with technical queries to carry out their own research
