A innovative "smart" technology business with an entrepreneurial spirit seek to appoint a Sole General Commercial Counsel on a part time basis (3 days a week) in Bracknell, Berkshire. Offering a bespoke product to market, they have assisted a number of clients optimise revenues and margins by improving the customer experience, whilst being at the forefront of the constantly evolving "smart technology" world we live in.

Your new role

Reporting to the CFO, as Sole General Commercial Counsel you will be responsible for all aspects of in-house legal advice and support. The position has a global legal remit, with an emphasis on EMEA and the US, advising and negotiating a full range of commercial contracts.

The role duties and responsibilities include:

• The provision of legal advice covering commercial, property, corporate, compliance and governance, intellectual property, copyright, data protection and health & safety. Souring specialist legal advice where necessary
• Developing legal structures, new policies and approaches for dealing with legal issues
• Managing relationships with external law firms to support the global business
• Providing company secretarial support where required

What you'll need to succeed

• A qualified solicitor with 5+ year PQE and proven experience in Commercial law working a significant amount of time in-house, ideally for a technology business.
• Ability to work independently and flexibly.
• Experience in working in an SME and/ or a standalone function.
• Experience managing external law firms.
