COMMERCIAL LAWYER (BILINGUAL FRENCH/ENGLISH)

This is a great opportunity to work with one of Europe's largest retail groups. Listed on the London Stock Exchange and based in West London, our client is looking for a senior commercial lawyer who is bilingual French/English. This is a temporary role that will initially be offered on a 6 month FTC basis with an anticipated start date of early to mid-September 2017. It is a very exciting time to join the business, during the implementation (over a number of years) of a new strategy that is driving towards optimising their operational efficiency on a global basis. It is the work flowing from this global project that will be the focus for the holder of this role and it may therefore involve some planned trips to other European countries.

The Role:

You will provide legal support and assistance to the business and to senior stakeholder on matters, such as:

• drafting and negotiating a range of commercial agreements including, supply, service and distribution contracts;
• branding & IP issues, as well as 3rd party licence arrangements; and
• working closely with designers, engineers and product development teams.

Role Requirements:

• business fluency in English and French is essential;
• you should be a qualified lawyer with at least 6/7 years' PQE. Candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply;
• candidates who have worked in the legal teams in the retail/FMCG sectors and for well-known consumer brands will be of particular interest;
• the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and
• strong drafting, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
