Childcare Lawyer

Our client is a well-established Local Authority based in the East Midlands.

They are currently seeking a diligent Childcare Lawyer to join their team for an initial three month basis.

The ideal candidate will be conscientious, innovative and can work well in a dynamic team.

The position

If your application is successful, you will be required to carry out a full caseload including, but not limited to the following duties:

• Providing advice, representation and undertake research relating to childcare matters, including: public law care proceedings, adoption, child protection and fostering
• Carry a caseload of matters in proceedings and pre-proceedings
• Undertake advocacy in the relevant courts and tribunals to include, CMC, IRH’s, PLO’s and Direction Hearings
• Attend meetings with expert witnesses
• Prepare briefs to Counsel for more complex hearings
• Attend legal planning meetings when required

You will be expected to hit the ground running from the outset. Therefore, it is essential that you have previous Public Law experience.

Due to the urgency of the role it is ideal that you are available on short notice.
