We are actively seeking an experienced Data Protection Lawyer who wants to be part of a growing In-house team in the Financial and Insurance sector. You will have extensive experience in risk, compliance, data protection and knowledge of the GDPR - in return you will receive an excellent salary and benefits.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the business and ensure all the organisation's entities comply with Data Protection Laws and be key to developing a risk based approach to responsibilities. You will be the subject matter expert and will advise Senior Management and colleagues on DPL topics and other related matters. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you can deliver, support, guide and make recommendations to other departments as needed on information rights law and compliance, which will include, amongst other things, the ability to make decisions on whether or not to carry out a DP Impact Assessment; what methodology to use; whether to carry out the DPIA in-house or use external resources as well as be able to implement safeguards to mitigate any risks.

Successful candidates will have a legal qualification with a demonstrable level of expertise in DP; significant level of knowledge of national and European DPL and practices (and the implications for the sector); ideally an in-depth industry knowledge of FCA Handbooks and regulations and issues - in particular CONC, SYSC, SUP, APER, SM&CR, FIT, COND rulebooks. The role would suit someone who works either In-house or in Private Practice and although a permanent role, applications will be considered by those looking for a FTC role.

This is a great opportunity to work in a truly distinctive company culture which is informal, collaborative and a really diverse place to be. You will be rewarded with an excellent salary and benefits designed to make life easy and look after you and your family's well-being.
