Solicitor: Commercial Employer Services

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Lawyer (preferably with in-house experience) to join a UK top 200, top tier commercial law firm based in the firms Brighton office. 

The Role
The firms specialist Commercial Team provide commercially focused advice on the many contractual, risk-based, dispute and compliance issues businesses can face as they operate and grow. They aim to understand the Client's business at least as well as they do and the lawyers will apply years of commercial experience, gained in many sectors, to meeting their specific needs. Above all, they aim to make a lasting contribution to their business, by maintaining the relationship with them and providing advice that takes full account of the strategic ‘bigger picture’.

The team has recently been involved in:

• The development of the UK supply chain, distribution and franchise network (including advertising and on-line media activities and competition law issues) for a multinational on-line takeaway food delivery business
• The acquisition of UK brand rights from a globally-known footballer for a new men’s fragrance;
• The supply of multi-site licences and installation of field-level user access enterprise software to a major European bank
• The £45m multi-national public/private initiative by the European Commission, “Which Architecture Yields Two Other Generations Of Fully depleted Advanced Substrate and Technologies” (WAYTOGOFAST)

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of commercial work and will have plenty of direct client contact.

The candidate
You will be a team player, have a strong work ethic and a commercial, client-focused approach to the delivery of exceptional service, with excellent communication skills. Previous in-house experience is an advantage but is not essential. Whilst the team works collaboratively in both legal work and value-added services to clients, the successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to develop and carry out business development on their own, within the team’s overall plan.
