Corporate Lawyer NQ-5 PQE, Glasgow

Top tier national firm are looking to hire an additional Corporate lawyer to join their highly successful transactional team with this role being based in their Glasgow offices.  The firm are interested in speaking with candidates from NQ to circa 5 years PQE with demonstrable experience of transactional Corporate law- ideally candidates will have exposure to corporate finance, M&A and private equity. 

Role Profile: 

The Corporate team work with clients at the forefront of their strategic development advising on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, flotations, takeovers, buy-ins and buyouts, joint ventures and investments. The firm's detailed knowledge and close working relationships with other professionals enables them to achieve the right structure for deals and to bring together appropriate funders and entrepreneurial investors. The corporate team specialise in the following areas:

• M&A
• Corporate Finance 
•  Private Equity
•  AIM
• Joint Ventures

The firm has a strong private equity practice operating as part of a national team advising a range of private equity institutions and management teams, closing over thirteen private equity transactions in the past six months and completed the most UK private equity deals in the £5m - £150m range last year.

They have extensive experience of advising on public takeovers, both recommended and contested; flotations/initial public offerings; secondary issues including rights issues, placings and open offers; private placements; corporate governance; compliance with companies, securities and financial services legislation including the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority and the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers. The team also has undertaken an increasing amount of cross border work and recently have undertaken deals in Germany, Hungary, Holland, South Africa, United States, Poland, France, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and Italy. They have a strong sector focus in Advance manufacturing & Technology, Energy, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Retail and Consumer Goods, and Insurance and Financial Services.

Candidate Requirements:

Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development.  They will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach.  They will also have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills.

Previous experience in Corporate role is essential for this role and candidates at NQ level must be able to demonstrate a minimum of a 6 month seat in Corporate. On offer is a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
