A globally leading European investment bank is looking to hire a Procurement Lawyer to join their legal team situated in London, for twelve months.

About the role

Reporting into the Head of IP, Technology and Procurement, the Procurement Lawyer will be responsible for assisting the bank's buyers on all types of procurement projects and advising on the setting up of contractual relationships with third party providers.

Key responsibilities

  • Working closely with both the procurement buyers and the different business lines that are the end-users of the products and services being procured - contracts typically relate to IT, market data and consultancy, in addition to supply of goods and services
  • Reviewing, negotiating and drafting contracts, while mitigating relevant risks
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Instructing and interacting with external legal counsel
  • Providing support on outsourcing, IP, IT data protection operational and legal issues

Key requirements for the role

  • The successful applicant for the Procurement Lawyer role will be a qualified solicitor within a common law jurisdiction and be of at least 3 years PQE or more
  • Strong and relevant experience gained at either an international law firm or investment bank in a Technology/IP, Procurement and Outsourcing team
  • Preferably has experience negotiating IT contracts and some familiarity with banking/financial services
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills, as well as being able to work as part of a team
