Our client a private equity firm is looking to appoint their first Legal Director.
The successful candidate will manage and oversee a variety of legal and regulatory matters that impact the group and private equity funds managed by the group. The role will involve working closely with the CFO, deal executive and senior support team.
It is expected that the individual with have a strong working knowledge of funds, funds structures and private equity transactions and a good understanding of financial services regulation applicable to the asset management sector including FCA rules. Combined with your technical legal expertise applicants should have a commercially pragmatic approach. It is essential that you are a confident, articulate and highly motivated lawyer, with excellent communication skills and the ability to establish relationships and rapport easily. The successful candidate will be a UK qualified lawyer, with approximately 6-10 years post qualification experience from a recognized top City law firm (UK or US). Whilst not essential, it is highly preferable if you have some prior in-house experience (whether by virtue of an in-house secondment or otherwise).
