My client a multi-channel global Retail Company which is home to one of the UK's most popular high street brands is presently recruiting for Merchandising Compliance and Risk Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, develop and implement policies across all divisions of European Companies to raise the profile and understanding of Merchandise Risk and establish it as a fundamental consideration in the commercial decision-making processes.
* Develop, implement and maintain product policies, guidance and procedures for buyers, vendors, merchandise co-ordinators and processing centre associates across all divisions to ensure legislative compliance.
* Effectively communicate EU corporate policy, procedures, arrangements and merchandise risk strategies across all divisions of the global Corporation relating to EU imports. * Identify, research and risk assess the impact of new legislation across the EU, provide reports and work with the Head of the Legal, Buying Directors and Buying Managers to implement suitable solutions.
* Plan, develop and deliver an effective Merchandise Risk/Trading Standards service and ensure all products supplied by EU Companies are in compliance with EU legislation and policy objectives.
* Provide a strategic consultancy service to Buying Directors/Managers, Buyers, Vendors, Store Operations and Legal Teams across all divisions of European Companies to support and achieve compliance with all relevant EU trading standards legislation.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Experience of fast paced Retail / Consumer environment a distinct advantage
* Up to date working knowledge of EU Trading Standards, Consumer Law, Trade Compliance (consumer goods), Merchandising and Supply Chain
* Able to Manage Risk through commercial decision making
* Proven ability in implementation of process and procedures
* Management of small teams of specialists
