Our client is looking for a Contract Manager to work in their London office.


Job Purpose:


The contract manager will be implement best practice commercial contract management, ensuring consistent management of all tenders and contracts. This generally includes oversight of the contract management process, as well as development of specific standards for bidding and submission, contract negotiations and document management.


Specific Regulatory/Legal Responsibilities:


To ensure that the company operates in line with all legal requirements including Health & Safety and Data Protection requirements at all times.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that the company's vision, values and policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Policy, legislative requirements and the safety and wellbeing of your team.


  • Use the new CMS system to develop templates, manage individual contract negotiations, store completed contracts securely, track renewal and expiry dates.


  • Draft contractual provisions based on strategy discussions, senior management input, and organizational needs and expectations. Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text.


  • Review contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal, specifically Service level agreement compliance and invoicing and payment compliance.


  • Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements.


  • Ensure that key terms of signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness; provide interpretation to support implementation.


  • Ensure that contracts and deal memos are properly entered into databases and securely maintained.


  • Manage on-going issues and variation/change managements, contract extensions or renewal


  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement whilst delivering value for money and managing risk through informed and reliable judgement


Internal/External Relationships:


  • Serve as primary organizational contact on contract terms during contract negotiations.
  • Develop best practice contracting and negotiation methods and processes.
  • This role will have dotted line reporting to the General Counsel


Knowledge and Skills:


  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong proven commercial management skills & experience combined with the ability to develop excellent supplier relationships & implement best practice to extract maximum value from agreements/contracts/frameworks
  • Commercially astute with an understanding of Contract Law and proficient in the purpose, composition, interpretation, management and enforcement of agreements/contracts/frameworks
  • Exhibit the ability to effectively communicate and report (verbal and written)


Education/Experience:


  • Demonstrable experience of negotiating and drafting contracts
  • Proven track record and detailed understanding of contract management processes
  • Experience of developing, delivering and implementing contract management plans
