Role Overview

This group is a business in the Fixed Income area and part of a global multi-strategy team investing in a wide range of industries within a leading global investment bank. This legal department role involves working within a small team dedicated to European banking.

Responsibilities

• Dedicated lawyer for this group with strong emphasis on transaction support and execution for debt deals
• Role will primarily focus on the group’s mid-market direct lending activity, though coverage may also include restructurings and lending deals across the wider global team
• Extensive interaction with both front-line investment professionals and support functions including compliance, tax, financial controllers and operations
• Advising on transaction structuring, negotiation of deal documentation, diligence, and regulatory and reputational issues
• Ongoing portfolio management, including amendments, waivers and upsizes
• Instructing and managing external counsel

Skills Experience

• UK, US or EU qualified
• 3 to 6 year post qualification experience in a law firm; previous in-house experience (including on secondment) an advantage
• Acquisition/leveraged finance lawyer, with general banking and extensive European cross-border transaction experience
• French language skills helpful
