Legal Counsel – Construction OR Commercial – Temporary Contract/Locum

The legal team comprise of Lawyers from the energy (utilities), construction, projects (PPP/PFI) and general company commercial background.
This is a temporary contract – up to 12 months. The role can be based in London or Leeds. We may consider candidates who are homebased an open to travel to meetings at the employer’s offices from time to time.
Accountabilities
You will work on the legal affairs for the business’ UK gas and electricity retail operations. You will sit in a friendly and supportive team and report directly to the Head of Legal for the division. With your colleagues, you will advise on a range of issues whilst supporting their Sales, Finance, Commercial, IT, Marketing and HR functions within the business.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor ideally around the NQ – 8 years PQE (ideally) but candidates from higher levels of PQE are welcome to apply*
- Proficient in handling commercial contracts e.g. customer contracts and B2B agreements are typical day to day contracts
- Any non-contentious construction experience would be beneficial as you may turn your hand to standard suite or bespoke agreements from time to time.
- Eligible to work the in the UK
