Our client, a leading law firm are recruiting for a Trainee Recruitment Adviser to join their Trainee Recruitment Team. They are open to discussing this as a permanent or a fixed-term contract.
The Trainee Recruitment Team is part of the HR Department and the wider Business Services function based at the firm’s head office in London. Its purpose is to work alongside the Trainee Recruitment partners to attract and recruit graduates who will ensure the continuing success of the firm.
The successful candidate will work alongside another Trainee Recruitment Adviser, reporting to the Trainee Recruitment Manager. The Advisers will share responsibility for managing the two administrators within the team and work closely with the Trainee Recruitment Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the target university relationship partners and associates to plan campus activities.
- Build expert knowledge of our target universities.to best advise the university relationship partners and associates on our campus strategy.
- Oversee the training contract interview process including; keeping in touch with candidates with outstanding offers, updating relevant internal materials, dealing with queries from the administrators and assistants.
- Management of recruitment events, including the full end-to-end process.
- Represent the firm on campus at university law fairs and at other recruitment events as required.
- Work closely with the Trainee Recruitment Manager and Inclusion and Corporate Responsibility (ICR) team on new diversity initiatives.
- Support the Trainee Recruitment Manager on projects, such as the new SQE route to qualification and a review of the firm’s trainee solicitor assessment process.
- Conduct short HR interviews as part of the trainee solicitor assessment process.
- Review applications as a first filter for the recruitment partners.
- Manage the Trainee Recruitment Facebook page and ensure the website is kept updated.
- Day-to-day management of the administrators’ workload.
- Ad hoc responsibilities, including running reports from the ATS and manipulating the raw data using pivot tables and other Excel function.
Key Skills
- Degree-educated, or qualified by experience.
- Previous graduate recruitment experience in a law firm.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team, but also be comfortable working on their own.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written, spoken and presentational and upward communication skills.
- Confident and proactive - prepared to take a hands-on approach to managing their workload and using their initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail and good use of grammar.
- A willingness to provide feedback, share information, contribute ideas and suggestions as necessary and take ownership of work.
- Able to build strong business relationships with internal and external contacts and the resilience to deal with demanding individuals.
- Experience of working in a diverse team, while fostering an inclusive team culture.
- High level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standard of ethics.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (in particular Word and Excel); previous experience of a recruitment system is beneficial.
