About the role

This Legal 500 rated Employment team carry out a varied mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for Respondents across a range of sectors but with a real emphasis on Retail and Leisure. Daily work of the Employment Solicitor will involve providing commercial advice to clients on a range of issues including employment tribunal and litigation proceedings, redundancies, equal pay, discrimination, whistleblowing, TUPE and the drafting of various employment documentation including advising one of the firm's largest and most valued clients.

An active involvement in business development and marketing is essential in order to maintain and develop a strong network for the department and firm.

About the person

The Employment Solicitor must be a UK qualified solicitor with ideally between 2 and 6 years experience although candidates with more experience will also be strongly considered.

Desired attributes of the Employment Solicitor include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving and negotiation skills and commercial acumen.

Ambition and the desire to work hard are pre-requisites for this role.

In addition, advocacy experience is not essential but will be looked upon favourably as this team are encouraged to undertake all of their own advocacy.
