ROLE: PRIVATE CLIENT SOLICITOR (2-4 YRS PQE)

LOCATION: Harrogate, North Yorkshire

SALARY: £35,000 upwards DOE

This firm is one of North Yorkshire’s most recognised and well-established, independent commercial and private client outfits boasting lawyers with a serious legal pedigree. What this firm has been able to do is build lasting good relationships on a local and national level, and so the quality of work on offer is nothing short of exceptional.

Due to growth, my client is now looking for an experienced private client solicitor with between 2-4 years PQE. This Private Client team is a Legal 500 ranked team whose remit is a full Private Client offering. This includes, wills, inheritance tax planning, trusts, probate and Power of Attorney.  You will also receive direct paralegal and admin / secretarial-level support.

Working in conjunction with the team, you will be expected to take responsibility for:

  • Delivering a client-centric legal service of outstanding quality, ensuring a quick turnaround of accurate legal documentation;
  • Seeing clients unsupervised to provide advice and to execute documents;
  • Drafting relevant legal documentation;
  • Preparing Trust accounts and tax returns and assisting more junior fee-earners with Trust files.

You will undoubtedly have strong non-contentious Private Client experience, though some experience of contentious Trust and Probate matters would be highly advantageous. Additionally, you will have full STEP membership and membership of Solicitors for the Elderly – or at least a desire and willingness to undertake study towards membership of these.

It goes without saying that you will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; you will display a natural empathy towards clients; you will be methodical and organised with an ability to prioritise conflicting objectives; and you will possess strong numerical skills.

My client also places emphasis on social marketing and networking, and therefore business development will be something that you will naturally be comfortable with. From time-to-time and working with the firm’s marketing manager, you may be asked to contribute to blog posts as well as other social media content.

This role would be well-suited to somebody who is seeking an overall wide-ranging and stimulating caseload and an environment that will allow you to grow professionally. The potential that this role has to offer is fantastic. In return for your hard work, the firm promises a competitive salary and benefits package, excellent and realistic prospects for career progression and an opportunity to develop your own practice and caseload. This is an opportunity for the right person to make a name for themselves as a recognised dispute resolution solicitor, and we’ll look forward to hearing from you.
